SHAWNEE / HOLDENVILLE
The Engage Free Clinic System was formed in 2019 by Aydelotte Baptist Church of Shawnee as a stand-alone community ministry It was 100% volunteer and donation driven, provided FREE primary care and prescriptions to the working uninsured people of rural Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties.
The pandemic of the early 2020's greatly affected the charity care health system, especially rurally, and we felt a calling to respond.
Now, the Engage Free Medical System still provides free primary care and prescriptions to those in need.
But we have expanded to rural Pottawatomie, Lincoln, Seminole and Hughes Counties, through a growing network of satellite clinics, connected by modern, digital medical tech, customized for the needs of rural free clinics.
We also participate in the Engage Rural Free Clinic Association, a loose affiliation of mostly church-based free clinics where we can share our clinic model and provide consultants, for free, to other members as well as share ideas and organize training specifically designed for rural clinics. Our members never pay a charge to join.
We work with foundations to provide grant money for our causes; we work with nursing schools to provide clinical hours for them, and we work with county health departments to set up and run free clinics in their buildings where one is needed in rural areas.
Our mission at the Engage Free Medical Clinic is to LIVE out the Gospel message in our communities, helping to promote it's welfare by providing free, high quality and comprehensive health care and wellness services to the economically disadvantaged and uninsured focusing on rural Oklahomans. We seek to implement the latest technology in an economic way, including telemedicine, to fill the critical void in rural free health care. And because our staff, from top to bottom, considers what we do a personal ministry, it is important that our volunteer family enjoy serving with a purpose. This has created an environment where everyone from administrators to providers work together to do all of this for pennies on the dollar. We love what we do whether we serve 1 hour every other month, or 20 hours a week.
